Perfect Pressure Every Time With Nissan Easy-Fill Tire Alert

Minimize the stress and hassle of maintaining your tires with the Nissan’s Easy-Fill Tire Alert. It’s poised to make your summer travel plans safer, and can even save you time and money by eliminating the guesswork that goes into filling tires. Driving on low tires can lead to uneven wear, reduced fuel economy, and is a safety risk for you and others on the road. Now you can put those worries in the past with this standard feature on most new Nissan models.

“Ensuring your tires are inflated to the correct pressure is one very simple step consumers can take to help make their vehicles safer, especially with the start of summer road trips,” said Sarah Cardinali, senior manager, Product Safety, Nissan North America. “Nissan’s Easy-Fill Tire Alert takes the guesswork out of filling tires and makes simple vehicle maintenance less intimidating for the average driver.”

Nissan has already sold 5.3 million vehicles with this exclusive system — that’s over 21 million tires in better working order than they were before. This is significant because the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says four out of five consumers are driving with too much or too little air in their tires. By inflating their tires to the right pressure, those consumers could save as much as 11 cents per gallon on fuel and extend the life of a tire by 4,700 miles.

In the U.S., Nissan has sold more than 5.3-million vehicles with the brand’s exclusive Easy-Fill Tire Alert Technology – about 21 million tires. The easy-to-use feature helps consumers quickly and conveniently fill their tires to the correct pressures every time without the need for a handheld pressure device or looking up the correct tire pressure numbers.

The driver display notifies you when your vehicle’s tire pressure is incorrect, and the Easy-Fill Tire Alert system helps you get the correct pressure in your vehicle’s tires. Just listen for the horn to sound and stop filling for optimal pressure. According to Nissan, this is how it works:

  • Park the vehicle in a safe location and apply the parking brake.
  • Put the vehicle in park, leave the keys in the ignition, and leave the vehicle in the “on” (accessory mode) position with the engine off.
  • As the air fills the tire, the exterior lights will flash to indicate Easy-Fill Tire Alert is monitoring the change in air pressure.
  • When the tire reaches the correct pressure, the vehicle’s horn will sound.
  • If you over-inflate the tire, the horn will sound again and the hazard indicators flash three times.

Make sure this safety-enhancing feature is available on the new Nissan that you have your eye on. The Easy-Fill Tire Alert system is available on the Altima, Armada, Kicks, LEAF, Maxima, Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, TITAN, Versa, and Versa Note. It’s part of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision, which is integrating more safety tech and raising the bar for standard safety tech across the market.
