2019 Nissan Murano Gets Visual and Safety Updates
The Nissan Murano has always been a guinea pig for testing new designs for us. Sometimes it ended in a smashing success and other times we learned what does not work. The 2019 Nissan Murano pushes its style ahead more with some new styling bits and some updated luxury and safety items.
Up front, the 2019 Nissan Murano takes on a sportier V-Motion grille with a mesh insert. Flanking this new grille are brand-new LED headlights that throw out a striking new look in the evening night. Around back, new LED taillights roll in to complement the new headlights, while all-new 18- and 20-inch wheels, and three new color round out the exterior updates.
Inside, the basic design of the Murano’s cabin remains the same, but the Platinum model gains new semi-aniline leather-appointed seats with diamond-quilted inserts and contrasting micro-piping trim for the seats, door armrests, and center console lid. There are also three new interior trimming options: the Platinum model gets new dark wood-tone, and the S, SV and SL models get light wood-tone and metallic trim options.
The Murano will also inherit the new Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of safety equipment. This system will come standard on the Platinum trim grade and as a part of the SL Technology Package. It will include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist and rear automatic braking.
Other than these updates, the rest of the 2019 Nissan Murano will remain the same, including its standard 260-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 engine and continuously variable transmission. This engine will ship power to the front wheels as standard and out to all four wheel with optional all-wheel drive.
